June 11th-13th marked a significant turning point in the relationship of the Aboriginal peoples of Canada, with the government and churches of our country. In response to Prime Minister Stephen Harper's apology, delivered on June 11th, 2008, for government policies that included residential schools, where children were separated from their parents and stripped of their culture; thousands of representatives of the First Nations, Inuit and Metis, converged on Ottawa in order to offer a response: Forgiveness.
