These photos are already in the archives of this blog, but I love them so much that I bring them out again to share. And I have cropped and edited them slightly.
The hat shop belongs to the family of my uncle by marriage, Joop Heniger. I was in Rotterdam in the summer of 2006 for 4 precious days, and my cousin took me to visit some special places, including "old Rotterdam." It is amazing that so much survived the bombing of the Second World War, this shop among them. The atmosphere was out of another era and very Art Nouveau-ish.

Wow, a hat shop! How wonderful! Did you get a hat here, Belinda?
No, Night Owl, it was a men's hat shop only! I loved the atmosphere though; it felt like stepping right into a timeless zone.
