Burning Bush

In the evening garden I came across a bush on fire

Welcome Guest

Shoes at a door--these have always spoken to me of arrival and welcome to our home.
These shoes belong to a grandchild, stepped out of and forgotten where they lay...

Cascade

Posted by Picasa
The field beyond the edge of the lawn is as dry as a Canadian home in winter--but the Queen Anne's Lace and an assortment of flower companions, tumble down the hill--a cascading waterfall of wildflowers

Hidden Splendour

Posted by Picasa
A walk to the bottom of our garden, across parched, crunchy grass, leads to a world of hidden splendour, where garden meets field and the fading light catches wild carrot and clover.

Inspiration

The small note book, with a cover of red roses, stands on my shelf of writing books.
Two girls--Heather and Lindsay--became my friends several winters ago. Somewhere along the way, I shared my dream with them--to write!
I can't tell you how powerfully their words speak into my life each time I read them--which I do often.
"Maybe one of your stories will be read. By all the world."
Maybe one day they will!

Echo of the Holy

Posted by Picasa
I took this photo a few weeks ago on another Tuesday night, after cell group. Moments before, the chairs were filled with a few good friends who love and support one another in the faith, and before that the table in the background was where we shared a meal, laughter and relationship.
What I feel when I look at this photo is an echo of the Holy. It is sacred ground.

Sam

Posted by Picasa
He is a one woman cat. Born in a barn nearly 15 years ago, he did not prove partial to the world of humans--with one exception--our mum. He arrived when she was just 65 and he has stuck close by her side through her sixties, seventies and now, the start of her eighties.
He's been with her through the loss of my dad and through her stroke, four years ago. He knows her every move and she anticipates his every wish! He is so important to her.
The joy and richness that he adds to her life daily, cannot be measured. If cats earn wings like angels, his are waiting for him--but I hope he doesn't pick them up anytime soon--his mission is not yet accomplished.

Who is He?

Isaiah 63:1 (New International Version)

God's Day of Vengeance and Redemption
1 Who is this coming from Edom,
from Bozrah, with his garments stained crimson?
Who is this, robed in splendor,
striding forward in the greatness of his strength?
"It is I, speaking in righteousness,
mighty to save."

The Sweetest Gift

"My sister gave me this blue jay's feather and I want to give it to you."
With that, Tiffany-Amber insisted on giving me this treasure--a beautiful work of art--a feather.

Katherine's Quilt

Posted by Picasa
Katherine brought her quilt out to show me at her 9th birthday party on July 1st. She worked hard on it and has made a thing of beauty!
Proverbs 31:22 (New International Version)

22 She makes coverings for her bed;
she is clothed in fine linen and purple.

I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:14
I fell in love with this picture and bought it on impulse. It's a scripture I love.Tiffany-Amber suggested that I hang it below my leaf wall hanging--lower than a picture would usually be hung--"So that kids can see it," she said.

Let the Fields Be Jubilant, and Everything in Them

Luke 12:28 (New International Version)

28 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith!
